The Beth Weissman Company (BWCO) was a direct competitor of Abels, Wasserberg & Co., (AWCO)purchasing and selling decorated glassware from Europe until the beginning of World War II, when the company turned to American companies for their supplies. The largest suppliers of glass were Beaumont, Fenton, Gillinder and WV Glass Specialty.
When Abels, Wasserberg went bankrupt in 1967, BWCO bought a portion of the remaining inventory and the Charleton trademark, and continued to sell these items under the Charleton name for several years. The company closed in 1993. (Hits: 1524)
