Sue Averett shows this CHS on page 140 of her CD, "Depression Glass Sandwich Server Trays Version 2". But it is shown in Crystal. She says, "Probably Imperial's Molly pattern because it is a ribbed octagon. However, the edges of the plate are straight, not scalloped." There is also no mention of a black CHS with this shape, but it looks and measures the same.

The Black Glass Encyclopedia put out by the West Virginia Museum of American Glass shows a heart handled CHS on page 110, and identifies it as Imperial Molly #725. It doesn't show the spade handle, but it confirms that Molly came in black.

CHS with this handle are shown as # 728 in "Colored Glass of the Depression Era, Book 2" by Hazel Marie Weatherman, p. 179, and in Inez Austin's monograph on CHS, p. 44.

The plate is 10", collar is 3 3/16", shaft/stem is six sided 5/8" and flaring wider at bottom, the spade handle is 3 3/4" by 2 3/8".
