The company was started as Morgantown Glass Works in the 1890's. The name changed to Economy Tumbler Company in 1903. Then in the 1923 it became Economy Glass Company. It became Morgantown Glass Works (again) on July 1, 1929. After being closed for several months in 1938, a group of former employees reopened the plant in December under the name Morgantown Glass Guild. The company closed forever in 1972.
